What to do when a ConnectUC fax fails to send

Objective

Identify common problems when a fax sent from ConnectUC fails or remains incomplete.

Steps

  1. Confirm that the Fax tab appears in ConnectUC.
  2. Select the correct Caller ID when more than one fax number is available.
  3. Verify the destination fax number and correct any missing or extra digits.
  4. Confirm that the cover page and document attachments total no more than 10 MB.
  5. Send the fax and open the Sent tab.
  6. Allow the system to complete its automatic retry attempts.
  7. Check for a red information icon next to the destination number, which indicates a sending problem.
  8. If possible, confirm with the recipient that their fax line is working and ready to receive.

ConnectUC automatically retries some failed faxes. A retry may use a backup method and display a different sending number.

Verification

Confirm that the fax shows a successful status in Sent and that the recipient received every page.

Expected result: The fax completes successfully and the recipient confirms receipt.
