Yealink T54W Setup Instructions

This guide walks you through unboxing and setting up the Yealink T54W desk phone. Follow these steps to assemble the phone, connect cables, and get it ready for use.

1. Unpack the components

   - Remove all items from the box. You should have the phone, handset, coiled handset cord, CAT5E Ethernet cable, stand, a power adapter (for non‑PoE installations), and a quick start guide. An optional wall‑mount bracket may also be included.

2. Attach the stand

   - Turn the phone over and align the stand with the matching slots on the back of the phone.

   - Slide the stand into place until it clicks.

   - Adjust the angle of the stand for comfortable viewing. If you have the optional wall‑mount bracket, follow its instructions instead.

3. Connect the handset and optional headset

   - Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the port marked with the handset icon on the rear of the phone.

   - Connect the other end of the cord to the handset.

   - If you use a wired headset, plug it into the headset port. The Yealink T54W also supports USB accessories such as a USB headset or an EXP50 expansion module; connect these devices to the USB port.

4. Connect network and power cables

   - Choose one of the following power options:

     • Power over Ethernet (PoE): Use the supplied Ethernet cable to connect the phone’s Internet port to a PoE‑enabled switch or hub. This single cable provides both network connectivity and power, so the power adapter is not required.

     • AC power adapter: Connect the Ethernet cable from the phone’s Internet port to your network switch or router. Plug the power adapter into the DC 5 V power port on the phone and connect the other end to an electrical outlet.

   - Optional PC connection: If you want to share a single network drop between your phone and a computer, run a second Ethernet cable from the phone’s PC port to the network port on your computer.

   - For reliable performance, use only the original Yealink power adapter and Ethernet cable. Third‑party adapters may damage the phone.

5. Power up and initialize

   - After connecting the cables, the phone will power on automatically.

   - A welcome message and “Initializing…” will appear on the display while the phone loads its configuration.

   - When initialization is complete, the phone is ready for use.

6. Verify operation

   - When the phone displays the home screen and the line keys show as registered, you can start making and receiving calls.

   - Pick up the handset or press the speakerphone key, dial a number, and press **Send** to place a call. To answer an incoming call, lift the handset, press the speakerphone key or press the headset key if a headset is connected.
